Smarts for Curious Kids answers children's questions at their own age level, and helps with homework without giving the answer away. It is made for children aged 4 to 12 and the grown-ups looking after them.
A real person reads this address, usually the same day.
neil@forevergreenapp.comTell us what happened and what phone or iPad you are using. If something went wrong on a particular question, the time it happened is enough for us to find it — please don't send anything your child wrote.
Yes. The owl is software — an AI that writes each answer. It is not a person and not a real animal, the app says so on the screen where your child asks their questions, and Smarts will say so itself if your child asks.
Tap Grown-ups at the top of the screen, enter your PIN, then open the Your child tab. Add a child is at the bottom. Tap any name along the top to switch who Smarts is for — the age range changes with them.
Email us. There is no way to reset it from inside the app, on purpose: a reset a child could reach is not a lock. Five wrong tries pauses the keypad for fifteen minutes.
Grown-ups → All questions lists every question and answer, newest first. Grown-ups → Today gives you a written summary of their day, and you can have a reminder sent to your own phone when it is ready.
Grown-ups → All questions → Clear history clears the questions and keeps the account. Grown-ups → Delete my account removes everything — the account, every child profile, and every question — and is how you withdraw your consent. Either way, questions we still hold are deleted automatically after 90 days. If you cannot get into the app, email us and we will do it for you.
Yes. The grown-up who set Smarts up can create a join code in Grown-ups → Grown-ups on this account, and the second adult enters it after signing up with their own email. You then share one family, one PIN and one subscription, and each of you chooses which of your own devices gets the daily reminder.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled in Apple's settings, not in Smarts: on your iPhone or iPad open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling there stops the billing; deleting your Smarts account does not.
Both are off until a grown-up turns them on: Grown-ups → Your child. If they are on and still nothing happens, iOS may be holding the permission — check Settings → Smarts on the device. Your child's voice is turned into text on the phone itself; if a device cannot do that, Smarts switches the microphone off rather than sending the recording anywhere.
Smarts complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We get a parent's verifiable consent before collecting anything from a child, we collect only a nickname and an age range — never a birthdate, a full name, a school or a location — and a parent can see and delete all of it at any time. There are no ads, no advertising identifiers, no analytics and no tracking in the app, and we do not sell or share a child's information.
